DPD EDITORIAL · THE IMPORTANT BIT

PRIVACY, WITHOUT THE MYSTERY.

D!@k Pic Diaries (DPD Editorial) publishes anonymous entertainment and cultural commentary. Our aim is to tell the story without exposing the people in it. “Anonymous” describes the public contribution; it does not mean internet use leaves no technical records.

What this site collects

A submission includes its text, city, category, your role, optional broad adult age range and gender, publication permissions, review status and submission time. We do not ask for your name, email, social handle or photographs. Do not include anyone else’s identity or sensitive personal details.

Contact details, links, social handles and some identifying numbers are removed by basic pattern checks before a story is saved. Those checks cannot reliably recognise names or indirect clues. An editor reviews every contribution before it becomes public.

Why we use it

You explicitly consent to processing your voluntary account for editorial review and anonymised publication. A separate optional permission covers consideration for the Annual. We use limited technical data to operate voting, prevent abuse and handle content concerns. No submission is automatically published or subject to an automated decision with legal effects.

Votes and essential cookies

When you vote, this site creates a random browser identifier in an essential, secure cookie lasting up to 180 days. A hashed identifier helps us keep one current answer per poll per browser. Public results show aggregate totals, never voter identities. Resetting cookies or using another browser can allow repeat participation.

Short-lived, hashed network identifiers limit abusive request rates and expire after two minutes. We do not store raw IP addresses in the editorial database. Hosting providers may process connection information and technical logs under their own policies. This build adds no advertising pixels or visitor-tracking analytics.

Who can see contributions

Unpublished entries and concerns are restricted to the authorised DPD editor. The site is hosted through OpenAI Sites using Cloudflare services; these providers process data needed to operate the service. We do not promise a particular data-storage country. Approved, anonymised content is visible to website visitors and may be shared to DPD’s social channels under the permission you gave.

Retention and removal

Unapproved submissions and completed concerns are cleared after 180 days from submission on the next service request. Voting records are cleared after 24 months on the next service request. Approved stories remain in the archive until removed by their contributor or the editor. Open concerns remain until reviewed.

You receive a private removal code when submitting. Use it with your reference on the removal page to delete the submission from the site and editorial queue. Keep the code private. Removal cannot automatically recall printed copies, screenshots or previously shared copies elsewhere.

Your choices and rights

You may ask about access, corrections, removal, restrictions or objection to the use of personal data, and withdraw consent. Use the private concern process; provide a reference or story link so the editor can locate the material. Applicable rights depend on the circumstances. You can also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner. See the ICO’s guidance on data protection rights.

Adults only

Participation is for people aged 18 or older. Everyone described must also have been 18 or older at the time. Age-uncertain stories must not be submitted. Report any age concern immediately using the private concern form.
